EU Referendum Now!
Its our nation too .... and we want our say!

The EU is taking over both our country and our lives and we sit there and let it happen. Did you agree to this? Were you even asked? Don't do the usual and sit on your hands!

The people of the UK demand the right, given to other nations around the world, to have a say in their future. Whilst most believe we should be part of Europe most also think we should not have to give up our sovereignty to take our place. It is undemocratic to deny us this right of self determination. Many countries have been granted this by the UK as it gave up empire and indeed many British soldiers lives have been lost in fighting to give people around the world that very right. Well now we want to have our say in the future of our nation!

Many will recall that Tony Blair promised the people a say in the constitutional arrangements governing our relationship with the EU. It was a promise that brought him votes and he formed the next government based partly on that promise. It was a manifesto promise. Well now Gordon Brown wants to renege on that pledge to us all on the grounds that the new treaty is not the same as the constitution albeit every pundit now says its at least 92% the same and some say as high as 98% the same. A promise is a promise!

Every EU leader has said its the constitution. It has been written in hard to follow convoluted government speak but everyone now agrees that this is a tactic intended to fool the people of Europe. Indeed you might think this whole exercise in obfuscation to be an insult to the people of Europe as those who are desperate to control our lives stick their fingers up at us believing we will never notice that its a constitution. Insulting is how the Brits see it and Brown must act now to restore some confidence in politicians.

So setting aside politics, as this is a matter of national survival, sign the Daily Telegraph petition to demand that Gordon Brown comes good on the manifesto promise of a referendum.
